Snake charmers

As a somewhat random occurrence, there happened to be a group of snake charmers outside of our guest house this morning! Myself being the charming guy that i am (get it? charming... aaaahahaha... oh wait, that wasn't funny), i talked them into putting on a show for us -- not to mention possessing a thousand rupees :)

Anyways, the pictures turned out pretty interesting! Go snakes!

Kathmandu, Nepal!

Kathmandu is AWESOME! What an amazing city! The city, the people, and the culture are very unique... The Nepalese are really friendly people! Also, the weather has been great so far -- sunny and warm everyday...

We are also getting ready to go on a trek around the Annapurna region in Northern Nepal! We've picked up most of the supplies and such that we need (like warm clothes, flashlights, backpacks, etc), and gotten all the appropriate permits! The trek should take about 12 to 16 days and will take us from Pokhara to Muktinath (near Jomsom). We are doing the trek on our own and hope to leave tomorrow (the 28th) or the day after...!

Bangladesh

Here are some pictures of Bangladesh! Unfortunately they wouldn't let us leave the hotel, since we were in 'transit'... this means that we had an overnight layover, but didn't have a visa... We saw lots of stuff on the bus ride to the airport the next day! -- lots of poverty and garbage! It was really interesting tho...

Koh Tao

Been awhile since the last post! We went to Koh Tao (north of the previous island) and did some snorkeling, rented bikes, exploring, hung out on the beach, etc, etc, etc... Saw some AMAZINGLY bright colored fish and crazy coral... Andy would be proud


And now, we fly today to NEPAL! Kathmandu, baby... We're flying on the (I'm sure very luxurious) Bangladesh Airlines... We even have a 24 hour layover in Dhaka! Should be awesome, since neither of us has been there before :)

Hopefully we'll get some photos of that up before too long!

Koh Samui

Lets see here... For a couple of days, we rented motorbikes and didn't crash! (*ahem* Graeme) Most of these pictures are taken from us touring around the island on the bike... Except for the picture of the beach below -- that was taken out the door of the tiny hut we are staying in... nothing like having your door open right onto the beach!

Bangkok

Finally, here are a couple of pictures for your viewing amusement -- time on the islands goes by really fast :)

And here is Katie in front of a Tuk Tuk -- these things are everywhere... Definitely one of the more dangerous means of transportation around the city.

Landed in SE Asia!

Well, we landed in Thailand! Unfortunately I haven't gotten a picture uploaded yet... Until then, this picture of me with my thumb in the air will have to do (pretty nice thumb, huh?)

Thailand is as awesome as I remember it... Anything and everything you can imagine is available for the low, low price of $4 :)

I think next we're heading to one of the islands in the south... from there, maybe over to Malaysia? Singapore? Who knows! Once I get a few pictures on here, this blog will be infinitely more interesting... Till then! -- Marshal
